Eh bonus book. Was okay gave some more detail on characters

This was a good book. +++For black queer stories. The fight scenes were a bit off but overall, I enjoyed this.

Very insightful read. Especially interesting techniques the forgers used to solidify authenticity. Appalling but determined men to do the unthinkable to survive. I as a woman know such determined minds truly believe they had little choice, but the truth is our society and life in general is never fair or just in the pursuit of a better life, it ALWAYS comes with a terrible price to pay.

It was a good book, I enjoyed reading it. However I would not recommend it for readers who do not like long-page books.

4 stars because it got dark pretty fast

This is the first time that I read a book that was written in verse style. I didn't know that was actually a thing. I'm not sure that I enjoyed that aspect of it. It reminded me of someone who was sending me text messages line by line, rapid fire, instead of just typing everything they wanted to say out the one go. I did enjoy the story. I wish that the creature was more prevalent and that the story between Maris and the creature took more of a center stage. As it is most of the book is how much we dislike the second girl. So, it's a fast read and a good story. Because it's written in this verse style it's not actually as long as it says it is.
